I’m new to tumbleweed. Is there a list of these additional repositories somewhere for tumbleweed?
Way back when, I remember going into YaST -> Configurations -> Repositories, and when you clicked Add, and maybe Community, a whole list of additional repositories showed up. This doesn’t seem to be the case any longer. I didn’t see PRINT, anyway. Am I looking in the wrong location
The ability to print as a pdf is automtically set-up when tumbleweed is installed. I have just checked the installed rpm’s on my system and I do not have a cups-pdf one but when press the print button the pdf option comes up. The pdf facility seems to be installed from the ‘poppler’ family of rpm’s.
I added the tumbleweed repository listed here: https://build.opensuse.org/project/repositories/Printing and installed cups-pdf. When done, I made the repo priority 200 and dis-enabled (unchecked) autorefresh, so it should stay out of the way unless needed. I went through the cups installation and all works.
This is my first experience with Tumbleweed. I was surprised it wasn’t in the std repositories.
Are there other Tumbleweed special-purpose repositories?
Can anybody comment why there is no cups-pdf in the official repo? I don’t want to install anything from somebodies home repo, but desperately need a pdf-printer?
Is there a pdf-printer in the current Suse 12? In the meantime I think about buying a license, the Tumbleweed/Leap is becomming increasingly frustrating…
Hi
Because the package is beta more than likely, ask the maintainer in Printing repository to push it to factory (they may not wish to maintain there…)?
No, as others tried to tell you already, it is available for Tumbleweed i586 and x86_64 too.
There’s a glitch on the search page though, you need to click on “Unsupported Distributions” first, you’ll find a second “openSUSE Tumbleweed” in there.
