Past openSuse versions allowed the use of Ctrl+Alt+L to lock my screen. My 12.3 doesn’t seem to be there. Did they change the shortcut keys.
Thankyou

please make the subject of your post somehow related to the question
you ask…like, this one might be:
12.3 KDE lock screen shortcut?

Found these tidbits:
Open “Global Keyboard Shortcuts” in System Settings and choose “The KDE Session Manager”. Change the shortcut for Lock Session to something else, then reset it to Ctrl+Alt+L. Test if that works.
If it doesn’t, log out and remove ~/.kde4/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc. That will reset all your custom global shortcuts, unfortunately, but made the shortcut working again, for me. Except, of course that I still can’t unlock the screen, so it’s useless.
AND
Oh, I can unlock again. It was the widget style I was using (Oxygen Transparent) that caused the problems. I switched back to Oxygen and the unlocker is working again.
AND
Open the Oxygen Transparent settings (click “Configure…” next to the widget style). Click “Exceptions…” and add an exception for “kscreenlocker_greet”. Make sure you spell it exactly like this (without the quotes).
I am at lunch at work on my (work supplied) Windows PC and can’t check this out to see if it is correct or not.
Thank You,
I moved the mouse to the background (out of any window). Then I did CTRL-ALT-L. Annoyingly, the screen locked.
I am looking at that global keyboard shortcuts / kscreenlocker and it does list Ctrl+Alt+L. With it being there, how come it does not work at my end.
So at home I find that Ctrl-Alt-L does work on my computer. Did you try any of the suggestions I found? (In KDE do menu / Configure Desktop / Application Appearance / Style). Since this does work with the screen saver, how is that configured? Here is my setup:

Thank You,
I did change my shortcut keys, it still doesnt work. I changed back to default. my screen locker is similar to your own.
So this is supposed to work and does work on my setup. I tried it on two PC’s. Since I am a creature of habit, both PC’s are loaded up in a similar way. I can only say you could raise a bug report on the problem and to be specific on your exact PC setup.
Thank You,
There already is a bug report about a similar problem:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311050
Please try the fix suggested in comment 24 there…
There is a fix mentioned in (comment11), it did work in my case.
Thanks
Yeah, that one is essentially the same as the one in comment 24…
Glad you got it working!
