im slightly mystified. I am trying to check if cron jobs e.g. btrfsmaintenance is actually running but i find no relevant information in the journal for any cron job, i therefore assume only failed jobs are logged?
i have answered my own question by searching for the non obvious “relocating block group”. This is NOT a good interface, no mention of balance, cron, or btrfsmaintenance.
