I have a shiny new machine arriving soon. I’d very much like to avoid the pain of adding all my additional repositories and reinstalling all the software that I have on my old machine. Is there a tool for doing this automagically?
I do not think there is a tool for this.
At least part of what you ask is covered in https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/509864-Restoring-a-backup-made-in-an-earlier-version?highlight=rpm+-qa (I think what I said in post #6 may also be of interest to you).
And for the list of repos (which is hopefully not that long) there is of course
zypper lr -d
to see what you have now. Normaly the majority will automticaly set in your sysemm by the installation process. Thus only the few extras are to be added manulay.
OK, thanks. Part of me is pleased: a nice project presents itself
Win10, if you know what I mean. Works as well as any exceptional all-in-one camera.
