If Windows offers a higher refresh rate (e.g., 1080p@120Hz or 144Hz) on the same system and monitor via HDMI, but Linux does not, then that might infer that these modes are not exposed by the Intel (i915 or Xe) driver.
If you have āedid-decodeā installed, you could examine the EDID from the monitor eg
sudo edid-decode /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/edid
but I expect it will show the same as the xrandr results.

Is there a way for me to āmanipulate the EDIDā for it to work or have some way to fix it or this simply just a reading which is immutable?
Or perhapsā¦it will never be fixed, unless I file a bug report?

Of course you need to adjust that for your own machine ⦠then feed it into wherever it needs to be ⦠I forget where that is ā¦
It would be in the realms of experimentation. You could try adding a display mode with xrandr and then try invoking it. If it works it can be made permanent with an autostart script. YMMV.
