Crash recipe: avidemux3-qt5 + gnome + nvidia?

avidemux3-qt5 problem?
nvidia G06 driver problem?
gnome problem?
all of the above?

Earlier today, I posted:

“Gnome not quite stable on X11 with NVIDIA” in Hardware.

Quick summary: I am generally not pleased with Gnome performance on x11 with nvidia G06 drivers. The worst of it … avidemux crashes gnome occasionally when it writes a file. I switched to wayland yesterday and was able to some testing today. avidemux3-qt5 crashes Gnome on wayland as well.

Any thoughts?

@malcolmlewis suggested that the issue may be related to:

Crash on meta_window_unmanage (#2644) · Issues · GNOME / mutter · GitLab 2

Seems possible, even probable.

All thoughts welcome!
