crash plasma desktop ? how fix it?

**please,help.
several times was happened and i was try to fix but sometimes succed,sometimes didnt succed .:’(

opensuse 11.2 for this version

Need more info. What did you do to fix it before? Are you saying this method does no longer work?

Are you using the default install versions or are you playing with 4.4 from the factory repo?

list your repos

zypper lr -d

Any error messages??

Saying it is broke does not help use to help you.

thanx for fast answer. i made dual boot before that and after 2 weeks ,when i was on my pc whole thing doesnt work
because too manny repos …:frowning: several instalations before whole thing goes down,its true. :’(

Remove numbers 3, 4, 5 and 8. You don’t need them.

There is no shame in being a newbie. Do try to learn and when you can, help.

interesting; I installed KDE4.4, and it was running the AIR theme… All was well except there was no folder view. I tried re-installing the add-ons, but all I got was the big red X.

I changed the theme to oxygen (I think that’s what it was running under 4.3.5).

Then, I couldn’t right-click to add anything. I thought I would restart the Xserver, just in case it was confused after the upgrade, and now PLASMA crashes on startup!

The mouse pointer moves, but nothing else works.

Is there an easy way out of this? How can I restore/change Plasma settings? I fear the only way 'round is to re-install 4.3.5?

Logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1
login with username and password and do:


rm ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma*

Hit Ctrl-D to logout
Hit Ctrl-Alt-F7 to return to login screen
Login and you have the standard desktop, with all program settings kept, just plasma to dress up again
