Crash on boot XPS13 with kernel 4.4.3

Hi

After the kernel update to 4.4.3 my machine (XPS13 Skylake) won’t boot, locking up with seconds of starting the boot sequence, never displaying any information on screen. Using the advanced menu option to load older kernel (4.4.0) restores functionality. Can’t find any evidence that these crashes are being logged; dropping off before systemd does anything useful?

All ideas for how I can get more information about the what/why of the crash gratefully received.

Regards

Chris

Edit the kernel command line by pressing “e” in the boot menu and remove “splash=silent quiet”. Then boot on with Ctrl-x. Now you should see more, but chances are, that the messages scroll so fast, that it doesn’t help much.
