Ik heb openSUSE 13.1 KDE 64b geïnstalleerd.
Alles werkt goed behalve de desktopeffecten.
Ik heb via deze website:
openSUSE Lizards
De driver voor mijn ATI kaart geïnstalleerd. (Radeon HD 7750)
3D werkt, heb steam geïnstalleerd en de spellen werken.
Maar zodra ik bij desktopeffecten de “Type Compositing” op OpenGL zet crasht KDE.
dwz, ik kan dan de effecten inschakelen, maar als ik een venster minimaliseer, dan is mijn scherm onleesbaar.
Iemand suggesties?
En het Qt-grafisch systeem (zelfde schermpje) staat op???
Heb je al geprobeerd of 't voor een nieuwe gebruiker precies hetzelfde is?
Je kunt ook 's kijken of er in de logfiles iets te vinden is:

Overigens: is 't met de desktopeffecten uit wel allemaal OK?

Bij beide opties (Type compisting en Qt-grafisch systeem) heb ik alle opties geprobeerd.
Ik heb een nieuwe installatie gedaan, en de hele schijf leeg gemaakt.

Zonder desktop effecten werkt alles perfect.
en fglrx is ook goed geïnstalleerd, anders zou je al die door fglrx gegenerereerde output niet zien.
Ik zie hier bij mij overigens, dat ~/.xsession-errors hier ook leeg is, wel heb ik ~/.xsession-errors:-0, kun je die ook 's bekijken als je die hebt?
Steam werkt ook perfect, geen problemen met de spellen.

Nix bijzonders aan te zien. Je zou er naar moeten kijken op het moment dat KDE gecrashed is.
Was dit overigens op een helemaal schone instalatie, d.w.z. ook op een helemaal verse gebruiker?
Kun je de inhoud van /var/log/Xorg.0.log op SUSE Paste zetten, en de link ernaar hier posten?

Deze file heb ik geknipt en geplakt nadat ik Desktopeffects weer op XRender had gezet.
(Weet niet of dat wat uitmaakt)
Het was een schone installatie
Ik heb de hele schijf leeggemaakt. (Alle partities)
Aan de output is niets bijzonders te zien. Ik zou een bugreport indienen bij KDE.

alle effecten uitgezet, en toen OpenGL ingeschakeld.
En nu crasht KDE niet!!
1 voor 1 de effecten ingeschakeld.
Effect “Magische lamp” veroorzaakt de crash. (I love whistles and bells :shame: )
Ik kan gelukkig leven zonder “magische lamp”.
Vind het alleen een beetje dom van mijzelf dat ik dit niet eerder had uitgeprobeerd.
