Double click: he means in the playlist of kaffeine, where the 0.9 version wants a double-click.
With me it is reproducible 100% in KDE3.5 and Opensuse 11.1.
The first time it always crashes, the second time it crashes to a 70% the third time it nearly always (90%) makes it. This if you “restart the application” through the offered button.

I thought it was because of the mix of 3.5/4 but apparently not.

i really hate Kaffiene in KDE4, I traded it in for smplayer, totem and VLC

No problem with kaffeine in kde4 here

It crashes when double-clicking files in dolphin. I double clicked by mistake, I use windoze often :frowning: I will have to try your Yast trick @caf4926

I understand the frustration. Apps won’t open for me in MS-Windows. I click on them once, and nothing happens. … I use Linux often. :stuck_out_tongue: I guess I should post on the MS-Windows forum looking for help to reconfigure MS-Windows ? lol!

Seriously though, I just tried double clicking on konqueror a few dozen times in KDE-4.3.4. Not one crash, but I did have way too many konqueror sessions running.

Actually though, why not give Gnome a try?

My experience with it is by default it uses a double click. Aside from a horrible audio implementation (in my experience) and a less then fully capable YaST software package manager in Gnome, (and aside from its double click that I don’t like) from what I have seen thus far on my sandbox PC is Gnome is an EXCELLENT desktop. And it follows a double click philosophy.

The double click isn’t at all the problem. A KDE application crashing for “no good reason” is.

I have given GNOME a couple of tries in the past. I don’t especially like SUSE’s take (the apps menu drives me a bit nuts). But I guess it’s just a click away to put the GNOME default one back in place. And SUSE’s GNOME also puts the menu at the bottom of desktop, not top. Again, also just a minor aesthetic preference, one that’s alterable.

Maybe I’m the only one experiencing the double-clicking bug'. BTW, how to produce a crash report? WHen I press "create" it says "report not useful." Should I be installing kaffeine-debug’ package (or something similar)??? Thanks for your help
