Hi folks,
Currently have a C2D E6600, and am going to upgrade to a Q9550 I have laying around.
Should I do a fresh install, or can I use my existing 11.3 install and just do a zypper dup later? No architecture change (already running x64) required. I doubt it would be an issue, but I figure I’d ask just to be safe.

“just to be safe” why don’t you:
- backup all /home, data and customizations made outside of home
- switch CPUs
- boot and see what happens
a. if it goes good
b. if it goes bad you can do a clean install and restore from backup
that is what i would do (no matter how anyone here answered)…
