When I select the My Computer icon and open it, there’s a lot of useful
information in the window. The CPU information, however, always shows the
temperature to be -73C. (don’t miss the minus sign there) I know it’s not
really that cool. I’m running OpenSuse 11 on a pc with a Via Nehemiah
processor (fanless). I checked to see that the sensors is installed, and it
is. If it’s a calibration issue, would it always show the exact same
(wrong) temperature? It’s not a serious issue, but I’m curious about it.
Thanks,
-Tom

The ability to get temperature values from the sensors varies. It’s
even possible that it varies across platforms using the SAME sensor
chips. So… what you need is the rules/adjustments for your
sensor environment. Sometimes you can find these by googling
around a bit using your motherboard or machine type. In my
case, on my Zmaxd2, I had to come up with my own (and hope
I got it right).
