Couldnt have a kb shortcut to inc/dec brightness

hi,
i need to increase decrease brightness or backlight with keyboad shortcuts. i used keyboard shortcuts in settings to set shortcuts for brightness but it didnt work, i searched discovery for apps but i installed many with no solution.

my system: leap 15.6 kernel 6.4.0-150600.23.17-default (64-bit), plasma5, x11, gpu NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2, my driver is official nvidia driver, and my tv is so old one,
i think maybe some script or maybe changing the driver could help but i feared ruining my system as i’m not expert with linux.

thanks in advance

Tumbleweed has this feature, you can check there how is it being done.

thanks, you mean i can use it in leap

So, it is a desktop? Can you adjust brightness by software at all? It may just not be supported by your hardware. Typing now on my laptop, I have briefly tried on my desktop. I run into the same issue as you with not too old hardware and screen. You may look into xbacklight. Sorry, I didn’t have time to test on the desktop. I can’t pursue this and won’t be able to do any testing for the next few weeks. Maybe the hint is helpful, at least.

xbacklight installed but i didnt find it as a program in my os, and i need too much the brightness shortcut as i high brightness hurt my eyes and low unwatchable depend on the content i watch or read,
so a shortcut will give me freedom to dec/increase frequently with easiness

You can use “Night Color” applet. It changes color temperature, but it is better than nothing.
