New install of OS11, kde worked fine first boot after install. I decided to update, ticked all repos and let her dig. Got all updates fine and on initial boot after updating got the above error. Click on “okay” and I get the login screen back. I’m in ice now typing this. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

First I would suggest installing kde3
then add this kde3 repo
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_11.0
and update all in it
Then we can look at updates for your kde4, get back to us when you have kde3 running nice
Thanx caf that did it. Installed KDE 3 and went ahead and did gnome at the same time. Now in kde4.12
I’m getting the exact same error after doing an online update in yast. How exactly did you get kde4 working again? I don’t see how installing kde3 would help…
