the display is always corrupt after cold boot
anyone resolved this situation
cheers
I’m not seeing a problem at present.
Cabling problem?? EDID is the handshake protocol used to set resolution of a monitor
Hardware problems have not been considered as occurrence is seen on two independent machines.
-
Laptop with 32bit OS.
-
PC with 64bit OS.
The mis-configuration on both is identical.
I have not detected any problem of the Desktop with the last update, you have tried to login to enter with IceWM if it works try to rename the configuration files among the hidden files
hi,
thanks to all for the assistance
IceWM and new user account boot without problems,
so its in the user configuration files,
not sure how to approach deletions
except deleted .kde4, but that made no difference
when the offending file is found, I will come back on this
this anomaly does not affect hibernation (normal mode of operation)
so it is not a real deal at the moment.
cheers
Most of the relevant configuration will be in files in “.config”. There might be some in “.local/share”.
Perhaps you should first try:
/bin/rm -rf .cache
Try this, whilst not logged in on the desktop:
rm -rf ~/.local/share/kscreen
