Correct software update repository

I am getting errors when attempting to do routine software updates.
What is the correct repository for Leap 15,3
and how do I set the repository name please.
I don’t do this very much.
Thanks in advance,

Nothing to do.

Try directly using a mirror: https://mirrors.opensuse.org/
Example:

sudo sed -i 's/download.opensuse.org/opensuse.c3sl.ufpr.br/g' /etc/zypp/repos.d/repo-*

Looks like there’s a serious error with the repos.

I just tried a fresh install of OpenSUSE Leap 15.3. One of the first configuration screens wants to setup the online repositories and returns an error for http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.3/repo/oss. Apparently the repodata file is missing. This has been going on since yesterday.

So I suggest the repository maintainers get their act together. I’m using OpenSUSE Leap in production here, and this is a serious PITA.

Cheers,

Niki

  2. Use it to perform a fresh installation of OpenSUSE Leap 15.3.

  3. Confirm default setup for online repositories.

  4. See with your own eyes that the installer returns an error.

Now please fix this.

When you such a good bug description, pleas file a bug.

I followed your advice and filed a corresponding bug here:

https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1192455

Thanks for reporting back with the URL.

Let us wait and see

On next reboot, the internet wouldn’t work. So, I switched from network manager to wicked. Still didn’t work. Switched from wicked to network manager. Didn’t work and rebooted. Internet worked. Received an update called ‘opensuse 15.3’ nothing else. System update seem to work. I’ll need to wait another day to be sure.

Hi
If you add some verbosity to the update (zypper -vvv up), it should help see more information on your issues.

Is your system set to download delta rpms? If so may want to disable if there are no internet downloads requirements, I noticed this is slow…

Here I am.>:)Downloaded openSUSE-Leap-15.3-2-NET-x86_64-Build24.5-Media.iso and added repositories without issues described here: 1192455 – Problem with main OSS repository

I received an ‘opensuse 15.3 release’ update. Then checked for more updates received two updates, one critical. They were both successful. The zypper command output looks normal, except the ‘following updates will not be installed’. Which doesn’t seem to affect anything.

NOTE: My motherboard is likely failing. It sometimes will not even get to the boot screen. So, the internet connection will be affected as well.
