The problem with the current proposal is that it would make it illegal to break digital locks on anything. So even linux users that want to watch a movie on there computer system would be breaking the law. You also cannot make backup copies of your own movies or music CD’s. Just a bunch of @#$#!. >:)

Is Canada trying to be like the USA or what?
It’s already illegal in the USA to “figure things out”. Thus all jobs that
require thinking are being forced to go outside of the USA. Unless you want
to commit a Federal crime. Eventually, we’ll all be working for the gov’t
anyhow… even if it’s picking up trash in an orange jumpsuit.
It’s debatable if the willful playing of a DVD in the USA is truly a Federal
crime. I’d love to see this it tested at some point… just not sure I want
to be the one.
