I have one machine setup currently that doesn’t meet our hardware needs, so I purchased a new system. Is it possible to copy the contents of one computer over to the other? They have different hardware and different drive sizes. How would I go about doing this?
Could someone point me to a tutorial?
You really want to be setting up the New server with a new install and then just copy in the config and data files.
As an aside, the benefit of doing this is you can update your software as well. Note this may cause some problems with old config files though.
Imaging an already installed operating system on a new system can be more trouble than its worth, though it is possible. A clean install would be best though.
