I have problem on boot !! I have a dual partition XP and opensuse 10.3. Using my FD I can boot without problem. Can I copy grub from FD to HD ? IF YES How ??
use Yast in Suse to install the bootloader
If you only have one HD, it goes to the MBR of that drive.
I don’t see in Yast/system /Boot Loader where I can copy GRUB folder from FD !!! I see only Edit parameters
Hello: I am still trying to get online with my new IBM laptop which has only SUSE 9 on it. Should I use Grub to boot? One of my online helpers says to get “Network Magic” at Staples. Are you familiar with that? And how do I answer when I am asked what my web address is? Thanks for help. JaneB
I think you need to start a separate topic. yours is different to the Original Posters & may not get the answers you need

I suggest you select from the “Options” menu/list on the lower RHS, the option “propose new configuration”. Then after it proposes a new config, goto the tab labelled “boot loader configuration” and put the X in “boot from the Master Boot Record MBR”
That should set it right.
Sorry what means “on the lower RHS” ??
RHS is right hand side. I made a typo error too which would be very confusing. I should have said instead of “Options” menu: the button on the lower right hand side labelled “Other” that activates a drop-down list menu.
Thanks !!! My “old” Grub configuration is back !!! lol!lol!
