hi all,
i need to convert banch of FLAC files to mp3’s in order to make them usable in portable players.
i know about perl oneliners that do that, but i’m looking for something that can convert whole batch in one go.
i have tried pacpl for this purpose, but it kept giving me decode errors ( decode failed exit 256…whatever that means).
anything you got working for you?..plz share

Try audiokonverter it’s available in the packman repository.
Description from the rpm:
“This is audiokonverter, a small utility to easily convert from OGG, MP3,
AAC, M4A, FLAC, WMA, RealAudio, Musepack, Wavpack, WAV and movies to MP3,
OGG, M4A, WAV and FLAC.”
It’s also available via the actions menu in konqueror once installed
offcourse.
In konqueror simply select all the files you wish to convert and
select “convert to” in the actions menu to select to what format you wish
to convert to.
You can run it without konqueror too offcourse, simply run audioconvert.

Yes, audiokonverter in Konqueror is very neat. Also, many people may not be aware that K3b can do conversions (under Audio CD Project).
