this morning I installed Suse 11.0 and am trying to get everything just as I want it.
However, I can’t seem to find the K Control Center anywhere. It doesn’t appear in the K menu and when I try to launch it from a konsole I get a “command not found” error.
I did double check that I had actually installed Suse with KDE and not Gnome
Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be and how I can fix it? Many thanks.

If I run kcontrol from terminal as su is what I
get is option Configure desktop
This one you find in /opt/kde3/bin/kcontrol
Is it this what you mean ?
If so and it not installed you can try to install using zypper as su of course

It’s now called something like Settings and it is there on your desktop but you won’t find the whole range of functions that are in KDE3 because not all of them have been migrated to KDE4 yet but things like Regional>Keyboard layouts etc are there.
Hi, I have the same problem. Cannot find the KDE Control Center. I tried it with ALT - f2 and kcontrol, the answer is “Cannot find command”. Perhaps i havre to install something more, but I don,t know what. How can I install the Kcontrol Programm again. Anyone can help?

KDE4? Try “systemsettings” rather than “kcontrol” then.
