:dont-know:
Firstly:
This is the forum for openSUSE not SLED. SLED support is via Novell forum: ATTACHMATE GROUP FORUMS
The login is the same
Second:
Your question is leaving far too much up to interpretation. You need to be clear in what you ask.
Are you able to connect with a windows machine?
Thanks for the reply…
but no. i cant connect to the windows machine…
Any ideas how will i do to connect it?
I’m by no means a Windows type of guy, but I would check to make sure your AD is set up correctly on your windows server. Don’t view this as me looking down on your topic, but here is a quick reference for making Active Directory. I think it’ll be easier to help you once you are able to connect a windows machine.
Some things to check:
From A Windows Box
Can you connect to it? (start -> run -> \myWinServerIP)
On the Server
Do you have your groups set up correctly? (Domain Admins, Domain Users, Domain Guests)
Do you have a user besides the Admin set up?
From A Linux Box
Can you connect to it? (smbclient)
Thanks for quick reply i’ll make sure that i will study that part…
many thanks to both of you…
i really apreciate it…
i will send some feed back after
thanks again

Configuring Samba-3 for ADS is a bit different than for an NT or Samba domain.
I only have experience with the later, but with that said here are two HowTos
that might be helpful:
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/unixclients.html#adssdm
and
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/domain-member.html#ads-member

Thats a big help there…
THanks…:))
There is a problem…
That i’m fixing for 5days and still nothin happen.
When i tried to login in the domain in windows server 2008 i created (ive change the “local login to name of the domain” then type the user name and password)…
there is a note “User not known to the underlying authentication module”…
but when i tried it (the username and password i type in the SLED) on the windows 7 os (also connected in the domain)
it is automatically login (after i type the user name and password)…
i cant have a screen shot because it is in the login part…
can anyone help me how to fix this?

it is ok to post here, but since so few here use SLED (i’ve never even
seen one) then why not ask over where the SLED pros are? forums.novell.com
as mentioned to you on 18 May!!

well, it is a commercial distribution, if you don’t have a subscription
you are, on your own…
just like if you have an unpaid for Microsoft or Apple commercial
system…nothing wrong with that, right?

You need to be a paying customer to post in the forum? What if you are
testing it for free? Or a student practicing?
Does Windows have the same policy? I think not.
If that is true, no wonder they come for help to us. :-/

It is OK, but few people here know about SLES problems.

You can do this for 60 days and if that is not enough prolong the test
(including updates and support) for another 60 days.
After that you can use it but without support.

Reading the FAQ for the suse enterprise forums, I can nowhere find any
restriction that you have to be a paying customer to use the forum.
The forum for sled, sles is explicitly mentioned as some kind of community
effort.
So it seems the 60 (120) day restriction does not apply to the forum.
