When I stick pendrive in, and click it from device notifier plasmoid, it shows me menu:
download with digikam
open with Dolphin
do nothing.
ANNOYING
1 - there is no “Dont ask next time”
2. Digikam is 1st in list.
I want to avoid this menu, and open it in Dolphin immediately.
Is that possible and how?
(I went to configure desktop, second tab, “device actions” but cant do much there. Existing “open with file manager” doesnt allow me to edit, and if I add new (kioclient exec %f) just doesnt do anything…
You could try a different plasmoid. Sounds like that one lack some functionality. There may be an updated version of that one out there in the repositories. I know that there are a lot of plasmoids available, and I have not had a chance to look at them all.
I suspect this will become a common complaint until the devs improve the notifier, so it shouldn’t take long. In KDE3.5 automounting is/was easily done.
There’s a plasmoid called ‘device manager’ in the repositories that can be set to automount and gives the action options in the same notification window, faster to use than the standard notifier in KDE4.
This plasmoid has been discontinued by the developer, who is now working on the official device notifier, which is a shame as manager seems to be a lot closer to what people want. There doesn’t seem to be a 11.2 option for it and it cannot be loaded from 11.1 repos without major regressions (50+).
I have the same problem mount usb and firewire disk drives. I want them mounted when I plug them - this doesn’t seem to happen until I take one of the offered options. The lack of a default action option is a pain - this would solve the problem.
