connecting to internet

Bought openSUSE 11.2 dvd from Amazon. Loaded it and let YAST do its thing without my intervention. Now I have a dual boot w. Windows Vista…
But
I cannot get Linux to find my DSL to connect to the internet. How do I do that? I am a Newbie with capital N but do know some Unix/Linux commands from place where I work. What information do I need to get this internet connection up and running and where do I find that info.?

You need to tell us more about the internet connection you have

Open a terminal post result of this:

/sbin/lspci -nnk

Ran /sbin/lspci -nnk Here is what I got. (Not sure which of this one needs to look at.)

It is listed here under Intel
HCL/Network Adapters (Wired) - openSUSE

You are showing the same driver. You should be OK. You may just need to go to Yast - Network Devices - Network Settings and run thru your device

That worked or something did. Yast gave me Network Stettings
and DSl in a right hand panel in the Network Devices window. I clicked both. Each time YAST did something with a progress thermometer and I clicked next or finish or whatever. I did not have to enter any settings. Hope what I’ve done is secure.

Thanks for your help. It was the opening of Yast and Network Devices that did the trick.

Good news;)
