connecting to a wireless network

Hi all. this is my first day with OpenSuse 11.1. i have three computers running Ubuntu and after many failed attempts to install Kubuntu on my four year old dell laptop i was able to install opensuse. what i’m having a problem with is enabling my wireless card and connecting to my home network. i was looking around the applications menu and in the hardware list my truemobile 802.11g card appears it just isn’t active. this is also my first time working with KDE.

welcome to the opensuse forums;

there is a wireless sub-forum to this main network forum;

at the beginning of it are two “stickies”: permanent pieces of advice to those seeking help;

you would be best starting a new post: but after:

try reading the first stickie; make sure you type all the commands that are recommended into a terminal, and post those back;

that way, the wireless experts are more able to help you;

all best wishes

Go to the wireless subforum and read the stickies. You will probably
get a hint there.
