Connecting Printer via wifi.

Hello,
This is my first post here and I am a noobie as well to openSUSE 12.2, and I must say I am quite impressed. Unfortunately trying to connect to my printer wirelessly has been a little frustrating.

I am using a CLEAR wifi enabled modem with a direct connection to my ethernet port. I have the driver installed for my printer (Epson Workforce 520 which is also wifi enabled). I have been trying to print via network in my Yast control panel with no luck and also using the connection wizard and TCP port connection type. I have been using this because I know the IP address of my CLEAR modem (I do not know IP of my printer) and the port number it is using. I am not sure if this is the option I am to be using but seemed like the most logical considering I know those 2 factors. Using the usb though works just fine. Any ideas in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

The starting point is to configure your printer with a static IP address. If you can then ping it successfully, you can move on to configuring it.

To find out your printer setup, here is the procedure from your printer manual:

Thank You,

Thanks guys for the suggestions, up and running wirelessly.

Good to hear. Thanks for the update.

Good to hear of your success. Did the printer Network Configuration printout as suggested by the listed procedure above?

Thank You,
