Connecting 3d printer to Tumbleweed PC USB

I have recently updated my PC with a new Tumbleweed installation, KDE.
I have a Prusa 3d printer connected via a USB interface.
lsusb confirms it’s presence: Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2c99:0002 Prusa Original Prusa i3 MK3,
however, when I attempt to run the ‘Cura’ GUI print program it fails to ‘see’ the printer.
If I do the same, but as Root, then Cura instantly sees the printer.

Can anyone help, please?

@SteveW likely a udev rule is required or maybe there is a cura group to add your user too?

I did wonder if it was related to a ‘group’. I found a Cura messages folder and noted the following:

2023-07-21 19:16:33,647 - WARNING - [JobQueueWorker [1]] USBPrinting.AutoDetectBaudJob.run [56]: serial.serialutil.SerialException: [Errno 13] could not open port /dev/ttyACM0: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/dev/ttyACM0

I checked the ttyACM0 file and discovered it was a member of the ‘Dialout’ group. Adding myself to that group fixed the issue.

Thanks for the assistance!
