connect two linux system

I have two computer that on each I install suse10.2.
I want to connect these systems whit a cross cable.
How can I do it.

I do not know if your question implies the ‘higher’ type of connection that df6269 offers you.

Just connecting them means a ethernet cross-cable (as you and df6269 already mentioned). Then goto YaST > Network Devices > Network card.
Do not use DHCP for the network cards involved and give them an IP address in a different network from other network cards that may be available on the systems. You could use e.g. 10.0.0.1 with netmask 255.255.255.0 for one and 10.0.0.2 with the same netmask for the other).

Now it must be possible to ping each other and use ftp, telnet, NFS, Samba, what you like. Take care that your SuseFirewall does not block things.
