Connect to a specific access point

I am using OpenSUSE 11.2.
Knetworkmanager seems to connect to AP with the highest signal most of the times(even after choosing others from the scan list).
But I want to connect to another AP which has a lower signal but lesser number of users.
Can anyone tell me how to ALWAYS connect to a specific AP(I know the address of the AP) using the command line or some other method.
Thanks in advance.
