I would say looking at the config and also running it, it’s just a
configuration issue (as in needs adjusting), probably with the screen
resolution you have perhaps. What is your screen resolution?

Had another quick look, if you change own_window_transparent to no it
should start to work. There is also a missing ${endif} after the
ppp0 section.

In outer screen 1920x1080 and notebook screen 1366x768 , both have the problem.
Of course, choosing own_window_transparent to no will conquer this , but will lose transparent.
The same .conkyrc can be used under ubuntu 12.04 successfully.

I had to increase the bg_alpha=0.80 in the lua script for it to work on
my system.
