Conflicts Windows Empty -- Cannot Correct Install

I have some packages in YaSt that are listed as Updates.

A few of them will show the conflicts window when selected; however, the window is empty!

For example, when trying to update MPlayer:

Are you using Software Management or the crappy updater?

In this case Software Management.

But speaking of crappy, after I rebooted following some “updates” which trashed my VideoLan. However, now when I try to run YaST in GNOME, it doesn’t launch! It goes goes away…I tried 3 times to launch it from the icon.

However, I can run it from the yast command line!

And I was able to restore my VideoLan by installing the GNOME gui.

No offense guys, but at version 11 stuff like this should never be happening!

what repo’s do you have

zypper lr

and you could later try as su

zypper rpm --rebuilddb

jabailo~> zypper lr

So are you still having Yast problems?

Try re-installing all the Yast2 packages

According to this list I’ve seen TWO repositories containing NVIDIA driver software. This looks like a conflict. Please pay attention to the numbers 8 and 10, since both are NVidia.

Item 10 is not enabled! From what I see:|

One was deactivated, but yes, I found when trying to click on it in Yast Repositories, it jumped around.

My guess is that it uses the site name as the key field rather than assigning a random id.

I deleted one of those.

I also noticed that serveral sites that are deactivated had the Refresh on. I went ahead and turned that off.

Priority. How does Priority work?

Priority in updates will be higher than in oss
so the latest updates get applied

don’t fiddle with it

zypper rpm --rebuilddb

This doesn’t seem to be an actual command.

correction
sudo rpmdb --rebuilddb
