Configuring PDC, SMB and LDAP in Suse 11.0

Hello all
I’m trying to configure a Suse 11.0 machine to be a PDC, using LDAP and Samba but having a bit of trouble as the “official” how-to is for “Suse 9.3 Pro” (Howto setup SUSE as SAMBA PDC with OpenLDAP, DYNDNS and CLAM - openSUSE)

Has anyone got recent experience in configuring this on Suse 11.0?

I get as far as:

So copy these scripts to appropriate destination directory:

cd /usr/share/doc/packages/samba/examples/LDAP/smbldap-tools-*/

cp smbldap-* /usr/local/sbin

But discover that the source folder and contents do not exist :frowning:

I have ensured the SAMBA-DOCS package IS installed (via Yast).

Any ideas please?

As per the above article, the files you are told to copy are “smbldap.conf”
and “smbldap_bind.conf” which are included in “smbldap-tools” package.

I’ll be trying this guide again in the near future on a VM though I think in case it goes awry!
