Configuring network connection on new installation

I’m a Linux novice, I’ve just installed openSUSE 11.1 with KDE, and I’ve very impressed, except that I can’t see how to get connected. :’(

It did scan for network cards during install, and I saw no error messages. The card is connected to an ADSL router, and the router is working fine with another computer. (Not wireless, by the way.)

Can’t see anything relevant in the Konqueror window, except that it says the network status is unknown.

So where do I start?

Yast - Network Devices - Network Settings
Confiure your network card in there : DHCP… accept

Thank you very much, Caf. That did the trick. Could hardly be easier, given guidance by an expert like you.

I’ve been looking around the system, and I must say I am bowled over with the quality of SUSE. It was well worth waiting for the download, which took all night with my "broad"band.

Happy it helped you mate;)
