Configure default monitor in KDE

Hi,

I am currently running openSUSE 11.3 x86-64 with two monitors, a 24" and a 20", both running off of an nVidia 9800 GTX+ using twinview. Does any one know of a way to have programs open by default on my 24" display or at least default to the display which the program was used previously. My computer seems to prefer to open programs on the 20" more so than the 24". In all other aspects the 24" is the primary monitor. I think that I am looking for some sort of setting within KDE. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Check out this post. It may assist with understanding the launch position behaviour with different apps.

Do you have KDE configured to restore previous sessions?

System Settings>>Startup and Shutdown>>Session Management

IIRC, this can be used to cause an app to start in the same place it did previously (provided the second display is still attached).

This may or may not be helpful to you

In System Settings > Display and Monitor > Multiple Monitors there’s an option Show unmanaged windows on:

I’m not exactly sure what it means by unmanaged windows, but I have it set to show them on display containing the pointer and nearly everything opens on the display I last clicked into, as well as that setting it lets you choose a display number

Thank you all for your help. I was able to make all programs start on my primary monitor by setting up a new rule (for lack of a better term) under System Settings > Window Behavior > Window-Specific. I had the rule work on all Normal Windows and set the Position to 0,0. Does anyone know of a tutorial or manual for learning more about these setting under System Settings > Window Behavior > Window-Specific or the kwinrulesrc file which the GUI updates to perform these changes?

OK, so perhaps I spoke a little too soon as I have too many things starting in the top corner of my screen like the Kickoff Application Launcher, but it is still a step in the right direction.
