I need to turn off the annoying Compiz feature that when my mouse hits the edge of a window, it suddenly shrinks the window and shows a bunch of other windows as well. This is very bothersome, requiring another mouse click to get back to my window. But I don’t know what the feature is called and looking at the Compiz manager I don’t see anything that looks like it’s handling this feature.
So maybe someone can just tell me what I need to do to turn off this feature?
You’re using GNOME right?
If you have the default SUSE main menu, open “Control Center” and then “Desktop Effects”. In the last tab you can set the screen edges to do what you want (or to do nothing, if that’s what you want).
Btw, the feature you described is called “Expo”. It displays all the virtual desktops on your system.
Great. Thanks. I just unclicked “Enable Desktop Effect.” Results seem fine for me. It did, however, seem to move all my apps back to one workspace, so I did have to move them back manually.
You don’t have to disable all the effects. Just disable the expo effect in the screen edges tab. See here:

You can re-enable all the effects, and then go to this screen and select each screen edge to disable the things you don’t want. Of course, if you don’t want any Compiz effects at all, then you can disable them globally like you just did.
