Configure Broadband PPPoE

Hello everyone. I just change my ISP from ip lan, to ppp broadband and i’m having dificulties configuring it in suse 10.3. I searched google and it said to configure it in yast with the DNS config module. Did that, knetworkmanager shows i’m connected, but the browsers don’t load any page at all. Can anyone help, please :shame: .

P.S. What happened to the old suselinuxsupport.de ?

At least a link to a how to or smth? :-s…other than the one on the forum cause that didn’t worked…

Thx

Nevermind that. smpppd was not running. Don’t know why though. Thx anyway

You can refer to following post first.
If you still receive any problem, you shall check your /etc/resolv.conf file that is nameserver address for DNS query.

Bryan’s technical world: How to connect to internet by PPPOE (KDE or Gnome) on Opensuse

thx for the link. that helped me make smpppd run at startup. Question. Shouldn’t it run at startup anyway since this is my default connection?

It got installed automatically as a dependency for me when I installed KPPP and Kinternet. So I don’t think it is even installed by default, therefore, it’s not surprising that you would have to turn on the service manually as well.
