Configure > Appearence broken

Short version: I messed up my openSUSE 11 x64 install on my laptop… :stuck_out_tongue:

Details:
I wanted to mimick the Leopard look 'n feel and I followed the Turn Your Ubuntu Hardy to Mac OSX Leopard guide. Up to the part of the global-menu all went well. I converted the global menu deb file to an rpm and installed that by right-clicking on it. But this was taking forever and I saw to many stuff passing that made me wonder that it was needed so I cancelled the install. After that if I open up “Appearance” it pops up and closes instantly.

I re-installed the gnome-base system and X11 for the most part via YAST2, but no luck. I ran su yast2 repair, but that didn’t do what I was expecting it to do. So now I can’t access “Appearance” anymore and the archive manager is broken as well.

Does anybody have any thoughts on how to solve if, besides an complete re-install of the system?
