I have a logitech mouse MX518 which has like 7 buttons on it, I use 5 of them usually though. It seems logitech doesn’t provide linux drivers for the mouse. Is there any way to let the os to be aware of the extra buttons? I’m using opensuse 12.3 KDE 64bit.
Hello,
You can make all your buttons work by installing and using either BTNX or EasyStroke. There are both downloadable from software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 12.3 , and have a nice UI who can guide you. I personally use BTNX, even if it’s older and no longer suported, since EasyStroke has some delay for me in games (i press 1 key and the action occurs in-game after 1 seccond or more), but others don’t have this issue, so it’s up to you.
p.s for BTNX you need BTNX config as well, also downloadable from software.opensuse.org. If you need any help configuring either of those programs let me know.
Thanks a lot. I’ll try it out.
