On more than one occasion with OpenSuse 11.1, I have had the system completely lock up after I’d gotten connected wirelessly. Can’t kill X with CTRL-ALT-Backspace, CTRL-ATL-Delete does nothing. Had to hold the power button down to power it down and try again. I thought part of the beauty of Linux was that the kernel and the programs were completely separate so this couldn’t happen?
I’ve had the same thing happen with various movie clips using Kaffeine.
The GIMP is utilizing memory completely badly compared to how it was managed in Opensuse 10.3
Can you find the microsoft infiltrate and get rid of him/her so the SW is once again stable?
