I followed the DIY’s and keep running into the same problem when I use compiz-kde.ymp (the KDE3 version):

compiz-plugins-extra
compiz-plugins-main

This may be why even though I have compiz enabled, it doesn’t seem to respond to the <ctrl><alt> keystrokes. I have compositing set to “on” in xorg.conf, and I had first downloaded, compiled, and installed the NVIDIA driver from it’s source package. I tried deinstalling everything compiz in YaST and reinstalling, but I still get the that error. I tried going into Personal Settings / Session manager / Window manager and set that to compiz.
Maybe it’s just a laptop thing?
