compiz fusion

Hello,
how can I run compiz fusion?
I have installed some applications for compiz fusion and I have configured the compiz menu.
but it doesn’t work…

For example Wobbly windows doesn’t work

Do you have 3D acceleration enabled in SaX2 (on the first screen/tab thereof)? If you do, then you probably just got some Compiz settings mixed up. Is it KDE or Gnome?

-3D: I think it’s on, its an ATI Radeon 2300

  • its KDE 4 (latest opensuse)

make sure you choose compiz as the window manager in the Config Desktop.

Should have said
go to

Configure Desktop _ Default Applications _ Window Manager
select compiz
apply

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace

I have done you’re actions that you sayed.
Now suse starts up I get the logon screen but when I enter my password and press enter he loads (icon: HDD, config, KDE etc) and than I see a little screen where stands in “Compiz fusion” after that he goes back to the logon screen

HELP

(sorry for my bad english)

can somebody help me?

can’t you login to kde3 or icewin
if so you could rename .kde4 here

if all else fails try

renaming .kde4 to .kde4old then try again

to do the above:

boot with failsafe and login at the prompt with your username and password.
Then type
cd /home/*yourusername

now type

mv .kde4 .kde4old

(I think that’s right)
it should re-name .kde4

Go into Control Center - Sessions and add an command to run on a startup /usr/bin/compiz

thanks i’ve don it you’re way
