Whenever I change workspaces, the compiz cube rocks to a stop, taking up precious time. How can I get rid of that rocking feature?

Hi
Have a look at the Compiz Config Settings Manager under the
desktop->rotate cube settings maybe the snap to top or bottom face is
enabled?

(most likely) the timestep value to be lower.
