Hi
After installing openSUSE 11.1, I cant find the Wall plugin in Desktop Effects.
If there is no such thing anymore, how can i switch desktops by moving my pointer at screen edges ?

Reidar

Rotate Cube -> General -> Edge Flip Pointer ?
(it’s been this way for awhile I believe)
I’m running KDE 4 on Opensuse 11.1
Cant find “Rotate Cube” in Desktop Effects at all…
There is Desktop Cube.
I would like to be able to move the mouse pointer and go to lower screen edge and flip over to a new set of desktop, like I was able to do with compiz in OpenSUSE 10.

I believe this was implemented in KDE options some time ago.
I’m running 4.3 RC3 and this option is found in systemsettings.

You will probably need to update you KDE from factory repos if you want the screen edges options.
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.1
Index of /repositories/KDE:/Qt/openSUSE_11.1
systemsettings --version
Qt: 4.5.2
KDE: 4.2.98 (KDE 4.2.98 (KDE 4.3 RC3)) "release 150"
System Settings: 1.0
Regards
systemsettings --version
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) “release 4.10.4”
System Settings: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) “release 4.10.4”
OK , I’ll try using factory

My guess is that you’re running KDE 4’s compositing and NOT compiz.
With that said, I find compiz to much more reasonable (flexible) vs.
what KDE has attempted to do in KDE 4.
The native compositing in KDE 4 is faster than using compiz… but
doesn’t have nearly as many features/flexibility.
And as others have mentioned, KDE 4.1.3 is pretty much DOA… you need
4.2.4 or better IMHO.
Qt: 4.5.2
KDE: 4.2.98 (KDE 4.2.98 (KDE 4.3 RC3)) “release 150”
I still cant figure out how to switch desktop’s by going to a screen border (like Desktop Wall) ?

What happens if you roll the scroll wheel on the desktop wallpaper?
And what happens when you click on of the other virtual desktops in the panel?
My bad… Works nice now
Thanx a lot…
Excellent news.
