KDE is now made to use kwin. On my machine it barely ticks over. Tell us your specs. Do you have the drivers for you video installed and working? It would be far better to get kwin working right then try to use compiz.
compiz was working before then i formatted the pc now its not i have an amd athlon 3000 with nvidia fx5600 got nvidia driver kde is broken because of opensuse’s stupid package management system where somethings are kde 4.3.9 and others are kde4.4
So you are running beta code and you are surprised that there are bugs??
Post output of
zypper lr -d
You probably have a mix of repositories.
If the repository install of the video driver is not working for you for some reason you can always use the install from NVIDIA. A lot easier then beating your head against a wall

You have conflicting KDE repositories. You have both factory and stable repositories enabled at the same time! No wonder you’re getting problems. Please open Yast and open Software Repositories and make these changes:

Once you get that straightened out (make the changes I highlighted in bold), then you need to do some things. Firstly, you need to open up Yast’s Software Management and change the filter from Search to Repositories. Choose your kde_factory repository and on the right choose “Switch System Packages to kde_factory”. Then click accept on the bottom right. Log out then log back in and let us know when you’ve done this and if Kwin still uses as much CPU.
Take Care,
Ian

thanx guys but i give up on that kwin situation i have resigned to using compiz as it is thanx though for the tip next time i do a full installation i will not mix repositories
the problem though is that some applications i can only find them on the community repo when i do a search on webpin
It is ok to use a repo to grab an app but things can get mixed if you leave that repo active. You end up with incompatible libraries. Which can seriously mess things up.
thanx again

Both the factory- and the stable-repositories do have a respective community-equvialent.
