Hi guys, girls and wise Penguins!
OpenSuse 11.3
Commander Stalin
I downloaded the Linux version
Download Gnu/Linux - 222 MB
and unzipped it
There is one executable file namely cstalin but when I click on it, nothing happens.
So either I need to do something more before I can run the game. There are no installation instructions on the website, which leads me to believe that it is unzip and play.
SO now I want to try and compile the game and see if that helps. But U have no idea how!
I downloaded the source from Download Sources - 142 MB
So what do I do now?
Please be gentle, please be kind to this newbie heart of mine!
J
PS I am not sure if this is the correct board.

If 'cstalin' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
cnf cstalin
jandre@linux-nogw:~/Programs/cstalin-0.9.5-linux> dir
If I doublecilk the icon nothing happens. It is set as executable.

Like I mentioned in the first post, nothing happens.
Nothing like in absolutely nothing. No error message or anything at all.
Sorry!
Honestly: such games should not run anyway. “Commander Stalin”, gosh… this is just disgusting.

A) why should they not run?
b)What is the game about?
ClrScr, you provided a link to that game in your first post. If you do not know who Josef Stalin was, read the respective →Wikipedia-article to get an idea about him.
Stalin launched a command economy, replacing the New Economic Policy of the 1920s with Five-Year Plans and launching a period of rapid industrialization and economic collectivization. The upheaval in the agricultural sector disrupted food production, resulting in widespread famine, including the catastrophic Soviet famine of 1932–1933 (known in Ukraine as the Holodomor).[3]
During the late 1930s, Stalin launched the Great Purge (also known as the “Great Terror”), a campaign to purge the Communist Party of people accused of sabotage, terrorism, or treachery; he extended it to the military and other sectors of Soviet society. In practice, the purges were indiscriminate. Targets were often executed, imprisoned in Gulag labor camps or exiled. In the years which followed, millions of members of ethnic minorities were also deported.
In short: Stalin was a cruel dictator disguised as a communist.
Hi All
With reference to the thread subject and following discussion with my fellow moderators the above three posts have been reinstated.
That being said, we as in the openSUSE forum have no control over the ‘politically incorrect’ name that a developer may give their ‘game’. Therefore please refrain from any more posts asking/responding/assessing “the political correctness” of the game title.
