Comet Lake PCH cAVS audio does not work

Dear colleagues,

please help me with the following issue. I have a new Dell Laptop and fresh OpenSUSE Leap 15.2 install and audio does not work. When I go ti Yast and try to configure audio card, I get the following message: “An error occurred during the installation of Comet Lake PCH cAVS. The kernel module snd-soc-skl for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.”.

ALSA information can be found here: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=944ef295017b72d4477c85535ff89384992726ce

Troubleshooting page here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Audio_troubleshooting did not help.

Kind regards,
Oleksii

I have figured out that the problem is that I have Dell XPS 17 9700 laptop, and it is too new. There are some advices on how to make sound work on it, but they are related to Arch or Ubuntu. I tried, nothing works at the moment for OpenSUSE.

Try to upgrade Linux kernel, if you really need it.

Maybe BIOS update is needed.
