Hi, So just seen Colonization Classic is available for linux on the steam store. However in requirements it states a minimum of Ubuntu LTS. I have a couple of other linux steam games which work great, neither of those are as specific in requirements as this seems to be.
So, is it stating this as Steam only officially support Ubuntu (i believe) or is it that this game will only run under ubuntu?
If I was to buy it how likely is it that it will run fine? I personally see no reason for it not too unless it’s a .deb package, but I thought that did not matter with steam?
Anyway, cheers

Steam only officially supports Ubuntu and SteamOS, as I understand it.
That said, I have a significant Steam library that I run stuff on openSUSE
13.2 from, and while sometimes I have issues, I usually am able to work
my way around them - usually just by launching the game directly rather
than going through Steam.
When I have run into a problem I can’t deal with, I find that the
developers generally are helpful if I provide some info about my
experience and ask them what information they need from me that would be
helpful. I even had one developer collaborate with me to determine a
problem with file opens on XFS on a 64-bit system - uncovered a bug of
sorts between their 32-bit program and a 64-bit system.
