I readed this post: Welcome to multimedia sub-area - openSUSE Forums and manage to install the pakage from this web: Multimedia - openSUSE-Community for KDE (i’m using KDE 4.1).
Now wen I try to watch an AVI, MPG or WMV file it gives me an error:
13:13:50: xine: Can not find the complement of entrance for MRL [desktop:/02.mpg]
If I try to play a DVD, I get this error:
This version of Xine (used by Kaffeine) has only a reduced group of códecs borne. It can not reproduce DVD.
I’m using Kafeine. What can I do?..
Hi,
that’s strange. Did You really followed folling link:
http://opensuse-community.org/codecs-kde.ymp
Please check, if you have installed the libdvdcss.
Furthermore, Opensuse 11.1 has a problem with opening DVD: add yourself (as root) to the groups “disk” and “cdrom”.

Yes…
Please check, if you have installed the libdvdcss.
Yes, I have it. You can see this screenshot: http://s1.subirimagenes.com/imagen/1835014imagen.png

I’ve already did that thanks to this post: K9copy can’t open /dev/sr0 - openSUSE Forums But didn’t fix this…

I will… But I have to say that I installed SMPlayer and now I can play MPG, AVI, WMV and DVD’s with no errors. Kafeine still giving me the same errors.

Delete /usr/share/doc/packages/xine/README.SuSE or install Kaffeine from Packman.

You must make sure it’s from Packman and you have xine packages too from packman.

OK - If you say so. Those pic’s are not easy to see, but I can see BLUE text in Packman. From the top of the software management screen, select packages and in the drop box select Update All in this list Unconditionally. Apply.
Hi
Try entering xine in the Yast search, then look for xine-codecs, and install them, then click on kaffeine and update it, and see if that helps,
This work for me.

If I were you… use vlc media player - you´ll never have problems again.

Visit the image directly and you’ll get a bigger version
He mentioned he already installed smplayer which worked fine and is in my opinion far superior to vlc.
To OP:
What caf4926 said, or click the “Versiones” tab and marked packman there with with the radiobutton… I like caf4926’s way better though.

You need more than just that. Also install (from Packman) libffmpeg0, w32codec-all, xvidcore and xvidcore4.
