Wondering if it is possible to change repositories to ones physically closer to me?
ie. am in Aus, and wondering if there are any repo alternatives here?
Ubuntu has this option, where you can choose which repose to draw from.

You can change the url of your repo, if you want to.
This mostly happens automatically. The site uses “mirror brain” which keeps track of mirrors and redirects requests to an appropriate mirror, normally using your IP to find your approximate location.
