hello dear Community

i am running clipgrab version 2.5.6

on a opensuse-system 13.2

get the above mentioned errors: clipgrab - version 2.5.6 could not retrieve player url and Error downloadin

can i upgrade - with terminal - is this possible!?

what do i need to do !?

Clibgrab is an electron app. So, is better you donwload it again in https://clipgrab.org/

Is an executable stuff, you don’t need to install it.

for youtube stuff I prefer using a browser extension as they’re small and they let me chose what stream to get and don’t do any useless conversion

just beware some of the youtube downloaders on mozilla and google extension stores are known as ads injectors (like video download helper)

The latest clipgrab version is 3.5.x. It’s available from Packman but I’m not sure about os 13.2. I thought support had stopped for that.

Thanks for that. I have used clipgrab for years (both with opensuse and windows) but the firefox add-on is much better.

The error the poster is receiving is due to the older version (3.5.6) available for opensuse compared to the windows version (3.6.4) which has kept up with the changing protocals used by youtube.
